Jane Austen's 200th anniversary

2017 is the 200th anniversary of novelist Jane Austen's death in Winchester in 1817 just after the end of the Napoleonic Wars. In recognition of her great contribution to our literary heritage, there are events and exhibitions around Hampshire during the course of the year. Most will continue on into the autumn. You can find out more at www.janeausten200.co.uk.

Jane's last resting place can be seen in Winchester Cathedral and the house where she spent her last days is in College Street. Both are within a five-minute walk of the Park House Apartments and Pilgrims Way Cottage.
